His defensive game is complemented by his impressive skating ability and intelligence on the ice. He’s able to cover ground quickly, and he’s always in the right defensive position. Overall, his offensive toolkit feels limited and needs to be expanded in order for Edstrom to elevate himself into a top six role. He works hard and knows where to go to attack the puck, but he isn’t as aggressive or physically imposing enough to consistently win puck battles.
