The Pittsburgh Penguins have shown interest in prospect Brayden Yager, but what does he bring to the table? After spending the entirety of the 2022-23 season in the AHL, the Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forward Vatteri Puustinen to a one-year contract extension. Puustinen is one of the Penguins’ top prospects and will remain with the team with another shot at reaching the NHL. The new contract is a two-way deal that will last a year with an average annual value of $775,000. In his one game of NHL experience from 2021-22, Puustinen recorded an assist in 10 minutes of ice time. During the 2022-23 season, Puustinen appeared in 72 games and scored 24 goals and 59 total points. Puutstinen’s 59 points was enough to lead the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in scoring by six points. The 23-year-old has a chance at becoming an NHL regular in the very near future and should put up a fight for a roster spot this summer.
