There's a right way and a wrong way for hockey fans to leave their impression on the ice.
Seattle Kraken season ticket-holders did it the right way. "Fans" of the Dallas Stars, not so much.
During Game 3 of the Western Conference Final against Vegas, Stars captain Jamie Benn decided the best use of his stick was to shove a cross-check into the face of Golden Knights captain Mark Stone. Stone was laying on his back at the time.
Later in the same game, Dallas' Max Domi laid his own vicious two-hander on the back of Nicolas Hague.
This was the moment the crowd at American Airlines Center, in response to the bush-league antics of their heroes, declared, "Hold my beer."
Benn was suspended... Domi was fined... the team apologized for the boorish behavior of its fans... and naturally, the Stars went on to win the next two games of the series.
The Golden Knights finally advanced to the Stanley Cup Final Monday night, beating the Stars again in Dallas, 6-0. Vegas will play the Florida Panthers for the Stanley Cup. If you circled that matchup on your championship bingo card.... I don't believe you.
Anywhoo...
Once the Seattle Kraken season ended (at the hands of those same Dallas Stars), the team had one more good use for its home ice at Climate Pledge Arena.

Season ticket-holders were invited to go full-Basquiat on the playing surface. Well, all except the sacrosanct center-ice "S" logo. Much like Superman's cape, you do not step on, nor deface, a hockey team's logo.
Several NHL teams have similar "Paint The Ice" events. "Litter The Ice" events, we're not so sure about.
