See If You Agree With The Hockey News Editor-In-Chief Ryan Kennedy
A Seattle team inspired The Hockey News Editor-In-Chief Ryan Kennedy to become the columnist known as "Jersey Hound" in 2005.
"The first sweater ever given the spotlight was the Western League's Seattle Thunderbirds," Ryan reminisced in the THN collector's issue, "The Greatest Hockey Jerseys Of All Time."
(Shameless Plug: The collector's issue, plus every "Jersey Hound" column, can be found at the THN Archive.)
Kennedy fancied the T-Birds because, "The major-junior team's white jersey featured nice colors and a very strong logo inspired by local indigenous art."
These days, the thriving Puget Sound hockey scene has grown to include the NHL Seattle Kraken, as well as the WHL Thunderbirds and Everett Silvertips.
We invited Ryan to join us for a discussion off all things uniforms. In the first of three Kraken Reaction podcasts, the "Jersey Hound" lists his candidates for greatest hockey jerseys.
