For the first time this season, the Seattle Kraken Wednesday won a game while scoring fewer than four goals.
The 2-1 victory over the L.A. Kings at Crypto.com Arena also snapped a five game road losing streak. The Kraken have now earned points in their last five games overall, though two of those were overtime losses (3-0-2).
Early on, it appeared L.A. was getting paid by the shot, racing to an 18-2 SOG advantage. Kraken goalie Joey Daccord would go on to stop all 20 Kings shots in the 1st period, and 42 of 43 to secure the victory.
Daccord has surrendered just 10 total goals in six consecutive starts, and 42 saves ties his personal NHL high.

"When you get peppered with pucks, it definitely helps you get settled in a little quicker. They got a lot of shots tonight, but (we) limited the high-danger chances."
"This whole stretch of games here, we've been doing a really good job of blocking shots, keeping plays to the outside, making my life easy. That's all credit to the boys, 'D' and forwards."

"I think in the 2nd and the 3rd (periods), we understood what we weren't doing right in the 1st, and turned that around."
After Tanev collected his own rebound in the 2nd period to break a scoreless tie, the winger mimed getting a monkey off his back during his goal celebration.
"Been a while since I got one. I've been getting great chances. Keep working hard, going to the right places, the puck will find you. But at the end of the day, as long as the team is getting two points, that's all you care about."

"We were giving them too much respect, sitting back, watching, waiting for something bad to happen. We weathered the storm early and found a way to start creating ourselves."
Eberle scored what proved to be the game-winning breakaway goal early in the 3rd period, to put Seattle ahead 2-0. Like a wide receiver on a post route, Eberle raced behind the defense and caught Matty Beniers' long pass.
"A blocked shot, as soon as you see that, you can start cheating (up ice). I don't generally do that, but it was nice to get in behind and find one."
"We've had a roller coaster year. We've blown a lot of leads. We haven't found ways to win. We've had a lot of guys hurt. These are the games that hopefully catapult your team. You look at the standings, it's there. We just got to start putting together 60 minutes, big wins like tonight."
