"Theme Night" Sweaters Unveiled For Viewing At Seattle Center Gallery

Per NHL directive, Seattle Kraken players won't be able to wear this year's artist-created "Theme Night" sweaters during warmups.
That hasn't stopped the team from making visible signs of support for the marginalized communities these sweaters represent.
In fact, the franchise has invited the public to see for themselves. Through November 25, the A/NT Gallery, adjacent to Climate Pledge Arena on the Seattle Center campus, is displaying special jerseys designed during all three seasons of the Kraken's existence.
Supported communities include Indigenous People’s Night (12/9), Lunar New Year Night (2/19/24), Black Hockey History Night (2/26), Women in Hockey Night (3/8), Pride Night (3/28), and Green Night (4/9).
This comes at a sensitive time for the NHL, which many have accused of backtracking on their "Hockey is for everyone" motto.
From The Score: "The league sent a memo to all 32 squads earlier in October prohibiting the use of Pride tape on sticks for the season. That decision came after a select few players opted out of wearing Pride jerseys and decals last campaign.
"Though Pride tape is back on the table, players are still not allowed to wear specialty jerseys during warmups on theme nights, including Pride night, Hockey Fights Cancer, and military appreciation celebrations."
We discuss all this and much more, in the first of a two-part Kraken Reaction video conversation with Kyle Boyd, team director of fan development.
