Nashville Shut Out Seattle 3-0 In Teams' First Meeting Oct. 12

Editor's Note: For every game day preview so far, we've had the pleasure of connecting with The Hockey News site editor for the opposing team. We'll aim to keep doing that all season.

Since our visitors are primarily Kraken fans, video chats lean into (1) Kraken players & personnel previously associated with the opponent, and (2) topics of general hockey appeal, such as outdoor games, or league-wide issues.

For the first time in nearly two weeks, Seattle Kraken fans in the Pacific Northwest will get to see their heroes in person.

The Kraken hope to provide a not-so friendly welcome to the Nashville Predators tonight at Climate Pledge Arena. Nashville certainly played rude hosts in the second game of Seattle's season, shutting out the Kraken 3-0 behind the 23-save effort of Juuse Saros.

In our Kraken Reaction game preview video, we chat with THN Nashville site editor Ann Kimmel about:

  • Predators exceeding early-season expectations
  • Why Saros is a "crock-pot" goalie (not a crackpot, a crock-pot)
  • Kraken forward Eeli Tolvanen, claimed off waivers from Nashville last season
  • What it takes to play 1,000 NHL games, like Ryan O'Reilly
  • Whether it matters if coaches were NHL players (Seattle's Dave Hakstol wasn't, Nashville's Andrew Brunette was)
