One reason for optimism about Matty Beniers' upcoming third full season with the Seattle Kraken is how his goal-scoring touch returned once the calendar hit 2024. Beniers didn't collect his first goal of the 2023-24 season until his 14th game, November 9 against Colorado. By New Year's Day, in 37 total games, the reigning Calder Trophy winner had only scored four more times. By contrast, he would find the net nine times in the final 30 games of the season.
