St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington tried to be sneaky.
When Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin scored his 900th NHL goal 2:33 into the second period, the Blues goalie calmly grabbed the puck and put it inside his goalie pants:
Linesman Michel Cormier recognized what happened and retrieved the puck after Capitals players were done celebrating with their teammate.
"Basically I had an assist on the goal there turning it over so didn't think he'd mind sharing it," Binnington told the media on Thursday morning. "I had full intention of giving it back to him."
Binnington can have a dry sense of humor and was not likely to hide and keep it from the 'Great 8,' but some didn't find his humor funny. He's been a villain in the league for years.
