Imagine you're Pierre Turgeon, 1,000-point NHL player Pierre Turgeon -- 1,327 points in 1,294 career games to be exact -- who played for the St. Louis Blues from 1996-2001 and you're in the best years of your career and having a teammate wanting to work with you like you're a rookie or someone in the early stages of his career.
Imagine 27-year-old Turgeon hearing from one of the greatest goal scorers in NHL history -- Brett Hull -- wanting to make you a better goal scorer.
Well, in an interview posted by the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, Turgeon told the story of just that:
Turgeon was already an established point producer and goal-scorer by the time he got to the Blues early in the 1996-97 season, but when someone with a pedigree of Hull, who scored 527 of his 741 NHL goals with the Blues, wants to offer some advice, you're a willing participant.
Turgeon had 355 points with the Blues, more than any of the six teams he played for in his 19-year playing career (watch the entire show below, with Turgeon's interview starting at roughly the 55-minute mark).
