My player to watch for the St. Louis Blues against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday is goalie Jordan Binnington.
What was a backbone for the Blues earlier in the season has seen some leaks spring as of late, and the goals-against have ballooned up as a result.
In his past two starts, including getting pulled from his last start Wednesday in Arizona, Binnington has allowed 10 goals on 44 shots, and in his past four appearances, including twice replacing Joel Hofer in net, it's 15 goals on 88 shots, which equates to a 5.57 goals-against average and .808 save percentage.
But Binnington is 7-1-1 in his career against the Blackhawks with a 2.50 goals-against average and .906 save percentages in nine career games and the Blues (10-8-1) would like to see their No. 1 goaltender bounce back and get back on track. Plus, surely he would want to perform well in front of his dad, John Binnington with the dads on the current road trip.
