The Lightning have some interesting trade options worth considering from the Canadiens.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are back on the ice today to face off against the Montreal Canadiens. The Bolts will look to stay hot after defeating the New York Rangers by a 6-2 final score yesterday.

With the Canadiens coming to town, the Lightning will now have the opportunity to get a look at some of their talent. The Habs currently sport 15-17-3 record and are rebuilding, so the expectation is that they will be sellers this season.

When looking at the Canadiens' roster, two interesting players – Jake Evans and David Savard – should grab the Lightning's attention.

Evans, 28, is currently having an excellent season with the Canadiens. In 35 games, the 6-foot forward has nine goals and 22 points. With these numbers, he is on pace to crush his career highs of 13 goals and 29 points, which he set back in 2021-22.

Evans would make a lot of sense for the Lightning because their top nine could use a boost. In addition, due to his strong defensive play, he would provide the Bolts with another option for their penalty kill if acquired.

As for Savard, he could be a solid player for the Lightning to bring back with J.J. Moser out long-term. The 6-foot-1 defenseman worked well on the Lightning back in 2021 and would have the potential to strengthen the Lightning's right side again.

If the Lightning acquired Savard, he could be a strong addition to their bottom pairing and penalty kill. In 33 games this season with the Habs, he has one goal, nine points, and 31 hits.
