The Lightning beat the Devils 4-3 in overtime last night at Amalie Arena. Darren Raddysh scored the game-winning goal 1:52 into overtime as the Lightning won their second straight.

Nikita Kucherov, who is the current league leader in points, got a cross-ice pass over to Raddysh. The defenseman then shot from the left circle, giving him his third goal of the season. With the assists in overtime, Kucherov now has 69 points this season.

"Just get open," Raddysh said of Kucherov after the game. "He's going to find you, eventually."

Raddysh is the second Lightning defenseman with an overtime game-winner this week. Nick Perbix put the Lightning over the top on Tuesday night in a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings.

After a frustrating start to the season, the Lightning have been able to turn their overtime record around. A major reason for that is their ability to win the opening faceoff. “The last two nights, you know, Stammer's won them both and we've had the puck for most of them,” head coach Jon Cooper said. “So you take a little bit of momentum away, you make some of their good players have to play defense, and you know, a big part of overtime is having the puck.”

Luke Glendening scored one goal short-handed and one at even strength, and Brayden Point also scored. Lightning defenseman Calvin de Haan left late in the first after taking a puck to the face, but later returned in the second.

Defensman Erik Cernak also left in the first period after being checked into the boards. The Lightning later announced that he wouldn’t return due to an upper-body injury. Jon Cooper did not have an update on Cernak after the game.
