Head Coach Jon Cooper met with media briefly during an optional morning skate ahead of Opening Night vs the Nashville Predators.
Tonight's game will be a big one for the Lightning as the open up the 2023-24 NHL Season on home ice. For Jon Cooper, it's a sign that training camp is over. "That's always a plus," said Cooper.
"Aside from the first night of the playoffs, this is this the biggest night of the year. It's just excitement. Everybody's on even footing."
"There's such a wide range of emotions and it's definitely an exciting time, for all of us. The games come fast and furious after this night but this one is a special one, and especially since we're kicking off the season, that makes it a little extra special."
The Lightning will start the day off at 1pm with a block party of events outside the arena. The Lightning’s GAME ONe celebration ahead of the 5:30 p.m. puck drop will be loaded with festivities throughout Ford Thunder Alley.
