    "Aside from the first night of the playoffs, this is this the biggest night of the year. It's just excitement. Everybody's on even footing."

    Head Coach Jon Cooper met with media briefly during an optional morning skate ahead of Opening Night vs the Nashville Predators. 

    Tonight's game will be a big one for the Lightning as the open up the 2023-24 NHL Season on home ice. For Jon Cooper, it's a sign that training camp is over. "That's always a plus," said Cooper. 

    "Aside from the first night of the playoffs, this is this the biggest night of the year. It's just excitement. Everybody's on even footing."

    "There's such a wide range of emotions and it's definitely an exciting time, for all of us. The games come fast and furious after this night but this one is a special one, and especially since we're kicking off the season, that makes it a little extra special."

    The Lightning will start the day off at 1pm with a block party of events outside the arena. The Lightning’s GAME ONe celebration ahead of the 5:30 p.m. puck drop will be loaded with festivities throughout Ford Thunder Alley.
