The “School Bus Line” has officially departed. So who fills the Lightning enforcer role with Pat Maroon gone? And what about his sidekick Corey Perry?

It’s been a month since the Tampa Bay Lightning traded three-time Stanley Cup champion Pat Maroon to the Minnesota Wild for a 2024 seventh-round pick.
Maroon recorded five goals, nine assists, and had a league-leading 150 penalty minutes last season with the Lightning. He was brought down to Tampa to toughen up the roster following the 2019 playoff loss, and that he did.
The Lightning had their fair share of brawls since Maroon joined the lineup. So who replaces him as the new enforcer of the Lightning? And what about his sidekick Corey Perry? The “School Bus Line” has officially departed.
The obvious answer? Tanner Jeannot. Supporting actors to be determined.
Since joining the Lightning on Feb. 28, Jeannot led the team with 77 hits.

After an injury took him out late in the regular season, Jeannot returned for Game 2 of the Lightning’s first-round playoff series against the Maple Leafs. Chaos ensued when Jeannot dropped the gloves with Luke Schenn in the middle of the third period.
Seven stitches were needed to patch up the Maple Leafs defenseman after the fight.
"He knows what he's doing”, said Schenn.
Jeannot didn’t register a point, but had 16 hits, including a team-high of 11 in a Game 3 overtime home loss.
With the departure of Maroon, Jeannot is next in line to continue the “tough as nails” mentality.
As for his sidekick, Corey Perry? To be determined. There’s no replacement for that level of pettiness.
