We're officially just 67 days away from the start of the Tampa Bay Lightning's 2026-27 season. There have been three players to wear the number 67 for the Lightning, dating back just to the mid-2010s. Benoit Pouliot was the first player to wear the number for the Lightning during the 2013 season. Pouliot, who was picked fourth overall in the 2005 NHL Draft by the Minnesota Wild, was once a very highly touted prospect, but by the time he made his way to Tampa, he was seen as a useful role player rather than the star that many had projected him to be. Pouliot spent just 34 games with the Lightning, scoring eight goals and 20 points during his short stint. After stints with the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, and Buffalo Sabres, Pouliot hung up the skates at the end of the 2017-18 season. The Lightning's second round draft pick in 2015, Mitchell Stephens, was the next to wear the number 67 during the 2019-20 season. He spent just 45 games with the Lightning at the NHL level, scoring three goals and a total of seven points. After a few years bouncing between a number of teams, Stephens appears to have settled with the American Hockey League's Coachella Valley Firebirds in recent years. The most recent player to wear the number 67 for the Lightning was defenseman Declan Carlile. Carlile appeared in a few games during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, but truly made himself known during the 2025-26 campaign when he was forced to play a bigger role due to injuries on the Bolts' blue line. This summer, Carlile's time with the Lightning came to an end when he signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
