Tampa Bay Lightning captain Victor Hedman is day to day with a lower-body injury. Hedman took just one shift in the second period of Friday’s 6-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche and did not return for the remainder of the game. He finished with just 5:56 of ice time. The Lightning announced Saturday that Hedman would not play against the Utah Mammoth. Hedman, 35, played just 33 games last season while dealing with injuries and performance anxiety, which led him to step away from the team for a period of time. He appeared in all 10 of the Lightning’s games to start the season before missing Saturday’s matchup, recording two goals and four points. The Lightning are scheduled to practice this week, before hosting the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.
