Mitch Marner and the Maple Leafs' at times acrimonious divorce has been the story of the off-season for Leafs fans. But at around the same time Marner's Leafs tenure meets its untimely end, highly-touted prospect Easton Cowan's is only just beginning. Like Marner, Cowan also led the London Knights to a Memorial Cup title while winning the Stafford Smythe Memorial Trophy as tournament MVP, but it remains to be seen if Cowan's production can translate to the NHL level. It most likely won't be this season and probably not the next, but is it farfetched to imagine Cowan one day filling in that Marner-sized hole on the top line?

If Cowan remains on his current trajectory, is it possible he can one day fill the hole left by Marner on Matthews' right wing?
