Mandatory Credit: Charles LeClaire-Imagn Images Scott Laughton is a Toronto Maple Leaf. According to several reports the Philadelphia Flyers center has been traded to Toronto. Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported the Leafs are also getting a fourth and sixth-round draft pick in exchange for a first-round pick, forward prospect Nikita Grebenkin. The Flyers will retain 50 percent of Laughton's contract, which means Laughton will only carry a salary cap hit of $1.5 million through the 2025-26 season. According TSN's Pierre LeBrun, the first-round pick going to Phildelphia will be in 2027 and is top-10 protected. A 6-foot-1, 191 pound forward, Laughton is known for his two-way play and versatility. A veteran of 661 NHL games spread over 12 years with the Flyers, Laughton has 106 goals and 159 assists. The Leafs have been for another center and Laughton should fit right in as the club's third option behind Auston Matthews and John Tavares. About 10 minutes after learning he was traded, Laughton joined TSN's Trade Deadline show to react to the news. Yeah, I've been in the rumors quite a bit over the last couple of years, but this year felt a little bit different, I would say.
