The 32-year-old suffered a broken finger when he was a victim of some friendly fire from teammate Auston Matthews in a game against the Vancouver Canucks on Mar. 4. O'Reilly is on long-term injured reserve and is not eligible to return until Mar. 29 at the very earliest. “He been feeling good,” Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said following the team’s morning skate on Wednesday. “Today was the scheduled day for him to get back on the ice so everything is progressing that way.” O’Reilly didn’t handle any pucks and Keefe added the session was more about “getting the legs moving.” At the GM meetings in Florida this week, Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas said O'Reilly is expected to return before the NHL playoffs begin in mid-April. The Maple Leafs acquired O'Reilly on Feb. 18 along with forward Noel Acciari from the St. Louis Blues, in exchange for a collection of draft picks, including a first-rounder. The forward has played in eight games since joining the Leafs, scoring three goals and two assists.
