Amazon is adding to their coverage of the NHL next season and there will be more Toronto Maple Leafs involvement. The company and the NHL announced on Thursday the creation of a new docuseries from Box-to-Box Films, the same producers who created the popular F1 docuseries 'Drive to Survive'. According to the NHL, the series will feature in-depth interviews with key players, their rivals and those in their closest inner circle - teammates, coaches, and family. The series will also reveal what life on-and-off the ice is really like for the league’s top players. From the quiet reflective moments to the speed and intensity of being on hockey’s biggest stage – revealing the talent, grit, and sacrifice it takes to make it in the NHL. In the teaser, Nylander is shown at an outdoor community rink. He's also quoted talking about his contract negotiations where he described it "as a tough time." Nylander ended up signing an eight-year, $92 million extension with Toronto that kicks in on July 1. The news follows the announcement that Monday national broadcasts in Canada are moving to Amazon's streaming service — Prime Video — for the next two seasons. It's not the first time the Leafs have been involved with Amazon. The streaming partner carried the 'All or Nothing' series that followed the club's 2021 season from beginning to end. Nylander is an excellent choice for the series, considering how popular of a character he has shown himself to be from time to time. Last season, the star forward got a lot of attention when he was snapped taking Toronto's TTC subway. It's probably a safe bet his commute on the train will be featured at some point in this.
