The Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman has struggled through his first 13 games of the season. Head coach Sheldon Keefe says the player is injured and working through some things. William Nylander has been one of the most talked about members of the Toronto Maple Leafs as of late. After returning from his team's week-long sojourn to his home country of Sweden, the forward wore a suit and made his way to the TTC subway on Tuesday where he was featured in Rogers' newest ad for 5G cell phone service. The ad is scheduled to make its broadcast debut during Hockey Night in Canada when the Maple Leafs visit the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday. [gallery ids="3939,3940,3941"] Nylander got Leafs fans talking when a picture of him surfaced earlier in the month showing the talented forward taking the subway before a game against the Ottawa Senators on Nov. 8.. Rogers recently purchased the rights to cell phone service at the TTC subway and has since been opened to other providers. On Nov. 17, Rogers activated service for all TTC subway stations [https://about.rogers.com/news-ideas/rogers-turns-on-5g-service-for-its-customers-at-all-ttc-subway-stations/] and service is available between stations south of Bloor Street and for a portion of the Vaughan corridor. Nylander's star has been on the rise since starting this season on a 17-game points streak. That came to an end when the Maple Leafs dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday. Nylander nearly extended it to 18 games when his breakaway in overtime hit both posts and the crossbar. Nylander isn't the first Maple Leafs player to promote the cell service.
