Out since Dec. 7 with a high ankle sprain, Joseph Woll does some light work in full goaltending gear with goalie coach Curtis Sanford before the Maple Leafs' optional skate on Jan. 9 Joseph Woll is back on the ice. The Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender put on the pads and did some light work with goalie coach Curtis Sanford on Tuesday. Woll has been out of action since Dec. 7 when he suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Ottawa Senators. Since Woll's absence, the goaltending position had some instability until Martin Jones, the club's third goaltender going into this season, took the net from struggling goalie Ilya Samsonov. Woll has an 8-5-1 record this season with a .916 save percentage. Woll didn't push it too hard in the net during the session. UPDATE: During his media availability, Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe said it was Woll's second day on the ice since his injury.
