Arizona Coyotes prospect Julian Lutz is expected to play for the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL this upcoming season.

Lutz was selected by the Coyotes with the 43rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. Last season, the 19-year-old played for EHC Munich in a professional league in Germany where he had one goal, seven assists and eight points in 24 games.

The young forward had his first taste playing in a Coyotes uniform during the Rookie Faceoff tallying a total of one assist in three games.

For the majority of Lutz’s career he has played overseas so this will be his first time playing in a North American league which could benefit him as he takes strides to make the Coyotes roster in the future.

Lutz has a lot of key tools that could translate well in the NHL.

“He is versatile and can play both as a center and as a winger,” Alexander Gammel of NHL.com wrote back in 2022. “What is striking is his extremely good skating, which is particularly important at the Red Bull Academy, as well as his remarkable game intelligence. Lutz has good on-ice vision and knows how to use his skills to put himself and his teammates in the limelight. With a size of 188 centimeters, he also has a lot to offer physically.”

It will be interesting to see how Lutz continues to develop in Green Bay.
