Jack McBain won't play tonight for the Coyotes against the Nashville Predators due to a lower-body injury suffered on Thursday.
Jack McBain is officially listed as week-to-week with a lower-body injury after a hard collision into the boards during the Coyotes Thursday night matchup against the St. Louis Blues.
McBain left the game shortly on Thursday but was able to return. Coach André Tourigny officially made clear that McBain will not play Saturday night against the Nashville Predators.
“He is day-to-day, he won’t play tonight,” Tourigny said. “So, Boyd will play on the wing with Kerfoot in the middle and O’Brien on the left.”
Shortly after Tourigny made the announcement about McBain, his status was changed to week-to-week.
Usually, McBain plays at center while Alexander Kerfoot and Liam O’Brien are at the wing but Tourigny is putting trust in Kerfoot to take over that center role for tonight.
Jack McBain has been effective this season tallying four goals, three assists and seven points in 13 games.
The 23-year-old has served a valuable role for the Coyotes physically, really helping set the tone. He also plays on the penalty kill where he uses his size and hard-nosed style to his advantage.
Travis Boyd will enter the lineup in replacement of McBain as Tourigny said pregame. Boyd currently has three assists through seven games.
I personally would call it a good decision that looks good
