The summer has officially kicked off for many players and insiders across the NHL. How are you celebrating the Fourth of July today?

On Monday, Canada celebrated its 256th birthday dating back to 1867.

Today, the United States of America commemorates its 248th birthday, dating back to July 4, 1776, the original signing of the Declaration of Independence by President Thomas Jefferson.

And while many people will be out cooking on the grill or blowing fireworks (or doing a combination of both), some, like ESPN and TSN NHL insider Pierre LeBrun, clearly is living his best life on the lakeside this Fourth:

Can you imagine being out on that lake, wakeboarding or boating along while you're trying to get a tan? I thought about that while I was staring at that picture (which is similar to what I drove by passing Deer Creek along the ridges of Provo Canyon).

Then, on the other hand, there's Chris Johnston, who is still breaking free agency and trade news on a holiday (granted, he had his day on Monday):

Whether you're breaking news or baking by the lake, hopefully, you're enjoying your holiday!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
