Arizona Coyotes defensive prospect Maveric Lamoureux puts on a show helping Team Canada pull out a 5-2 victory over Finland to start off the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship. Team Canada is on a quest to capture their third consecutive championship at the world juniors and Lamoureux is certainly helping their cause. The 19-year-old tallied one goal and one assist as Canada opened the tournament with a win over Finland. Standing at 6’7’’, Lamoureux uses his size to his advantage, specifically on the defensive side. For a player with his stature, he actually does have a smooth stride which allows him to be effective at both ends of the ice. “Like you said I’m a big defenseman also being mobile for my size,” Lamoureux said this summer.
