The 2025 season is looking like it's on pace to be another lost season for the Vancouver Canucks. Through 23 games, they sit second to last in the Pacific Division with a 9-12-2 record. According to Elliotte Friedman, the team is open to moving their veteran players in an attempt to get younger.

However, Friedman reported that doesn't include standout defenseman Quinn Hughes.

Hughes, 26, is has one more season on his 6-year, $47.1 million contract, which he signed on Oct. 1, 2021.

While Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal said the team would prefer to trade Hughes if he's unwilling to commit to the franchise long-term, it doesn't appear they'll force a trade, at least not yet.
