Arshdeep Bains scored with less than 15 seconds left to lead Team Pacific to a championship at the 2024 All-Star Challenge.

Arshdeep Bains put on a show for the Pacific Division at the 2024 AHL All-Star Challenge. Not only did he score the game-winning goal in the final, but he was also named MVP of the event after leading all players with five points in four games. Here is a look at how he did in each of his four games.
Bains played the hero in the Pacific Division's game against the North Division. Down one with just over 30 seconds left to play, he collected an Olen Zellweger pass at the side of the net, beating Jet Greaves and tying the game at one. Neither team would score in the three-round shootout, leaving the game as a tie, with the Pacific Division picking up one point in the standings.
While Bains would not score in Game Two versus the Atlantic Division, he would again be involved in all of the Pacific Division's goals. He collected the secondary assist on Raphael Lavoie's opener and was credited with the primary assist on Shakir Mukhamadullin's game-tying goal with under ten seconds to play. Like Game One, the contest would end in a tie, with the Pacific Division entering their final game, sitting in third with two points.
Needing a way against the Central Division, Bains once again came up big for his team. He recorded the primary assist on Matt Coronato's 3-1 goal and finished the game with one shot on goal. While he didn't score in the shootout, the Pacific Division still won with Coronato scoring the goal to send his team to the Final versus the Atlantic Division.
Bains saved his best for last as he helped the Pacific Division defeat the Atlantic Division 3-2 in the final. In the dying seconds of the game, he stripped Dylan McIlrath of the puck and beat Clay Stevenson on a breakaway for the game-winner. With the win, the Pacific Division captured the championship for the second straight year, with Bains joining Christian Wolanin as the only players to have won an All-Star Challenge while representing the Abbotsford Canucks.
