The Vancouver Canucks (22-9-2) look to extend their seven-game point streak as they take on the Dallas Stars (18-8-4) on Thursday night. This will be the second of three meetings between the two clubs, with the Canucks taking the first game 2-0 back in early November. With a victory, Vancouver would pick up their 11th road win of the campaign in ten fewer games than it took them to reach the same milestone during the 2022-23 season.
The Canucks will be facing Dallas at the perfect time, as the Stars will be without starting goaltender Jake Oettinger. This means Vancouver is expected to face Scott Wedgewood, who has allowed three or more goals in five of his past six starts. If the Canucks can crash the net as they have the last few games, they should have no problem scoring 4+ for the 19th time this season.
Players to Watch
Teddy Blueger
Currently riding a four-game point streak, Teddy Blueger comes into this game as one of Vancouver's hottest players. Playing on arguably the best third line in the NHL, he has played a massive role for the Canucks during this seven-game point streak. Whether at even-strength or on the penalty kill, he will need to have a strong game if Vancouver intends to leave Dallas with two points.
Joe Pavelski
Joe Pavelski has shown no signs of slowing down this season. The 39-year-old has 29 points in 30 games and is still one of the best in the league at deflecting pucks past goaltenders. Looking for career goal number 16 versus Vancouver; expect to see him roving around the Canucks net all game.
