Moments after the Vegas Golden Knights hoisted the first Stanley Cup in franchise history, Bet MGM posted early odds for the 2024 National Hockey League championship.

The Vegas bookmaker has the Colorado Avalanche as the +800 favourites followed by Edmonton (+900), Boston (+1000) and Toronto and Carolina both at +1200.

The Golden Knights are on the board at +1400 to repeat. At those odds they are tied with the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils.

The Vancouver Canucks, who failed to qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs for a third consecutive season, are listed at +5000. They share the same odds as their Pacific Northwest rivals the Seattle Kraken along with the Winnipeg Jets and New York Islanders. All four of those teams have the 18th best odds.

According to Bet MGM, the Anaheim Ducks and Montreal Canadiens are considered the longest shots to cash a winning ticket next season. They are both posted at +25000 to win it all.
