Canucks release full training camp roster

Team will take 60 players to Victoria for on-ice sessions starting on Thursday

The Vancouver Canucks have released the roster of players that will take part in the team's 2023 training camp starting Thursday in Victoria. It includes 32 forwards, 20 defensemen and eight goaltenders.

The roster includes Ilya Mikheyev who won't be ready for contact early in camp. It also includes newcomers Carson Soucy, Ian Cole, Pius Suter, Teddy Bluegers and goalie Casey DeSmith who was acquired on Tuesday from Montreal. DeSmith has been assigned number 29 by the Canucks.

The training camp roster is expected to be divided into three groups. The Canucks will conduct on-ice drills Thursday and Friday at Save-On Foods Memorial Centre. The team has a scrimmage scheduled for Saturday morning.

The Canucks play their first preseason game on Sunday in Calgary.
