The Vancouver Canucks (37-13-6) fell to the Winnipeg Jets (33-14-5) 4-2 on Saturday night. Despite being the better team on the night, the Canucks could not capitalize on their chances leading to the loss. This was only Vancouver's fifth regulation home loss on the season, with their record dropping to 19-5-2 at Rogers Arena.

In the end, mistakes cost the Canucks against the Jets. They allowed two power play goals on the night and made bad reads during the third period, resulting in two goals against. Overall, it was a good effort by the team and showed that they can play a physical brand of hockey even without Dakota Joshua in the lineup.

    Quotes:

Noah Juulsen on Phil Di Giuseppe's fight:

"I think it just shows that we all have each other's backs. It doesn't matter who it is, whatever it might be, we have each other's backs."

Tyler Myers on the team effort in this game:

"We played a pretty good hockey game. We lost a special teams battle, and that ended up being the biggest difference for us. But for the most part, we played a good game. We will look at some of the things we can clean up, but guys were into it tonight."

Tyler Myers on the physicality and penalties in the game:

"It's also tough when you're battling. You know, the first hit of the game is not a penalty, and he calls it a penalty because I'm a bigger guy. You know, it felt like we were battling two teams tonight. It's unfortunate, but we'll look to come out on our road trip with a good effort and keep what we have going."

Rick Tocchet on the play of his team:

"I thought five or five were really good. Yeah, they won the special teams battle, but I thought we were better five or five. There's a lot of care in that room, so I'm actually happy with the effort."

"I mean, it wasn't that bad. I saw some guys getting frustrated, but it wasn't that bad. I mean, well, yeah, but we have to learn from it as well. Playoff experience is big, and, you know, you can look at these games and get the experience when we run into another game like this. Get that experience. Learn from what happened last time. How do I deal with these situations? We'll learn from this."

Rick Tocchet on the refs and penalties:

"There's some hits there. I'm not going to question them like when Myers got the penalty right away, I thought, okay, so anybody who gets hit in the head. Like I put the Lowry, listen, we could sit here all night and pick and choose. You know, if I was on TNT right now, I could give you what I thought about the refs but I'm not. I'm a head coach. I think the refs are great. It's a hard job, man. These guys do a hell of a job. It's tough. Every night, and there's a lot, especially these types of games, there's a lot of action. So you know they're human too."
