    New Canucks choose uniform numbers

Ian Cole, Carson Soucy & Teddy Blueger have revealed numbers they'll wear in first seasons in Vancouver

The guessing game is over. The three newest Vancouver Canucks have selected the numbers they will wear next season.

Teddy Blueger has opted to wear Bo Horvat's old number 53. In so doing, Blueger will become just the second player ever to wear 53 for the organization. Blueger has worn 53 throughout his NHL career first in Pittsburgh and most-recently in Vegas.

Ian Cole will wear number 28. It's a number that has not been issued since the late Luc Bourdon wore it in 2008 prior to his tragic passing in May of that year. Cole has worn 28 in previous stops in St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Colorado, Minnesota, Carolina and most-recently Tampa Bay.

Cole and Carson Soucy both wore 28 for their respective teams last season. It appears Cole's seniority took hold with both players signing free agent deals with the Canucks on July 1st. As a result, Soucy will wear number 7 in Vancouver. That number was last worn by Will Lockwood for 23 games last season before he was traded to the New York Rangers.
