Quinn Hughes is officially back. Despite being listed as a scratch after warmups, the Vancouver Canucks captain will return to the lineup on Wednesday versus the L.A. Kings. Hughes has missed the last six games with a reported oblique injury and has not played since January 31, when the Canucks took on the Dallas Stars.

With Hughes returning to the lineup, Vancouver has elected to deploy 11 forwards and seven defensemen. Initially, Arshdeep Bains was in the lineup, but he was the player who was scratched at the last minute so Hughes could play. Hughes is listed in the starting lineup and will be partnered with Filip Hronek at the start of the game.

While the Canucks were able to pick up seven points in the six games without Hughes, their offence clearly struggled. Over the six games, Vancouver scored 11 games and averaged 26.2 shots per game. Not only should Hughes help the Canucks at even-strength, but he should see plenty of time on the power play.
