According to Rick Tocchet, the Canucks do not expect center Elias Pettersson to return before the end of the campaign. After morning skate on Saturday, Tocchet said, "Probably going to shut Petey down. He's getting better, but at this point, rather him just try to get back stronger." He said, "I didn't seriously, but it was an injury where I don't know if it's like, sometimes I get in trouble, like, because everybody's different. But also how you react off injuries. So originally I thought after a while, maybe some pain, but at this point, it's progressing, but not at the pace we want. So, why even play him? That's kind of where we're at." He has missed the last nine games with an upper-body injury, and will miss the Canucks final three of the 2024-25 regular season.
