The Vancouver Canucks have signed center Max Sasson to a one-year, one-way contract extension. The deal will carry a cap hit of $775,000, and keep the 24-year-old in Vancouver for another season. Sasson was scheduled to become a restricted free agent this season after wrapping up his entry-level contract. In a statement, GM Patrik Allvin said, "Max stepped up his game in the playoffs and played a pivotal role for the Abbotsford Canucks during their championship pursuit. His speed, quick pace of play and a lead by example mentality were key contributing factors in helping us win the Calder Cup. That championship-winning experience should help him a lot in his development moving forward." Sasson was a standout for the Canucks organization during the 2024-25 season. He played 29 games in the NHL, recording three goals and seven points. Sasson also had a successful AHL regular season, recording 32 points in 41 games.
