Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin was honored by his hometown team, Dynamo Moscow, for breaking Wayne Gretzky's all-time NHL goals record.

On Friday, he took part in a pregame ceremony, where Dynamo raised a banner featuring him, his autograph and "895" — his record number of goals to pass Gretzky — to the rafters. He also reeived a golden stick.
