ARLINGTON, V.A. — As the Washington Capitals continue to gear up for training camp, more familiar faces continue to fill MedStar Capitals Iceplex for informal skates and practice.

Nic Dowd headlined a handful of new players to join the team's on-ice workouts ahead of camp on Tuesday, along with prospect Zac Funk and former Capitals winger Joe Snively, who is now signed with the Detroit Red Wings.

Dowd was in high spirits during the skate, which mainly consisted of a scrimmage followed by some 200-foot skating work to close things out.

Among the standouts of the session was Pierre-Luc Dubois, who took good care of the puck and set up quite a few odd-man rushes while getting some breakaway chances and scoring on Logan Thompson.

Dubois has been skating with Washington for the last few weeks as he continues to acclimate himself to the team and the D.C. area. The Capitals acquired Dubois in exchange for Darcy Kuemper in a blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Kings this summer.

In addition to Dowd, Dubois and Thompson, Vincent Iorio, Alex Alexeyev, John Carlson, Matt Roy, Taylor Raddysh, Aliaksei Protas and Jakub Vrana were also present at Tuesday's session. Prospects Ayo Adeniye, Alex Limoges and more junior players were also present.

Jakob Chychrun is away for the next few days, while Ivan Miroshnichenko is set to arrive this week as well. He will be on the ice on Wednesday in Arlington for the NHLPA Rookie Showcase. Alex Ovechkin is also set to return to the United States in the coming days, per his agent.

Washington opens training camp on Sept. 19.
