The Capitals saw two defensemen get banged up in the 4-2 win over the Devils.

The Washington Capitals were already navigating quite a few injuries on the blue line going into Friday's game against the New Jersey Devils, and now they have more to address with Martin Fehervary hurt and Rasmus Sandin suffering a scare in the 4-2 win.
Head coach Spencer Carbery said that Fehervary will be re-evaluated on Saturday, while he said that he expects Sandin to be fine but that the team will monitor him as well.
"It’s not ideal. We’ll reevaluate, but we got some issues on the backend," Carbery told reporters postgame regarding Fehervary's injury.
Fehervary was injured at 7:50 of the second period when he was defending Dawson Mercer in front. The Slovak defenseman did not appear to catch any of shot from Mercer but seemed to tweak something.
He was favoring his foot after the sequence and made his way to the bench as the play went back up the ice. He did not play the remainder of the game due to what the team is calling a "lower-body injury."
Here's the play it happened on:
Losing Fehervary and potentially Sandin would be a major blow to the defense, which is already dealing with a myriad of injuries. Trevor van Riemsdyk is on the injured reserve as he recovers from a lower-body injury suffered on Nov. 4 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Meanwhile, Joel Edmundson remains on the long-term injured reserve and has not played a game yet for Washington after breaking his hand in a non-game scrimmage in training camp.
The Capitals return to action on Saturday against the New York Islanders, where they will have more details on their blue-line situation. But from the sounds of it, things don't look ideal.
Washington is carrying eight defensemen, though, so if Feherary can't go on Saturday, Alex Alexeyev is the extra who can draw in.
