ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals are back in action and are looking to bounce back against the Boston Bruins, and the lineup will look a bit different, too.

Sonny Milano will make his return after missing the last two games with an upper-body injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Winnipeg Jets. He will start on the third line with Max Pacioretty and Hendrix Lapierre and take Nicolas Aube-Kubel's spot.

Aube-Kubel and Matthew Phillips are the healthy scratches up front, while Vincent Iorio will remain out on the backend with the defense staying the same. Meanwhile, Mike Sgarbossa will stay in and play on the wing, and Tom Wilson will stay seated as he serves the fifth game of a six-game suspension.

Charlie Lindgren will start, marking his 14th start in the last 16 games.

    Here are the projected lines:

    Alex Ovechkin-Connor McMichael-T.J. Oshie

    Aliaksei Protas-Dylan Strome-Ivan Miroshnichenko

    Max Pacioretty-Hendrix Lapierre-Sonny Milano

    Beck Malenstyn-Nic Dowd-Mike Sgarbossa

    Martin Fehervary-John Carlson

    Rasmus Sandin-Nick Jensen

    Alex Alexeyev-Trevor van Riemsdyk

John Carlson is set to play in his 1,000th NHL game on Saturday. The 34-year-old said he's feeling good going into the festivities but doesn't want it to overshadow the work that D.C. has to do to keep the playoff race alive and well.

Washington sits two points ahead of the Detroit Red Wings for the second Wild Card spot and one point behind the Philadelphia Flyers for third in the Metropolitan Division. WIth a win and other teams losing, the Capitals could add to their cushion, but they know they'll have to be a lot better than they were on Thursday in Toronto.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. ET at Capital One Arena.
