    Jerome Miron - USA TODAY Sports - Capitals' T.J. Oshie Done For Season With Lingering Injury

    ARLINGTON, V.A. -- Washington Capitals forward T.J. Oshie will not play again in the 2022-23 season due to an upper-body injury.

    Oshie has been dealing with a lingering ailment that flared up again against the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 30. It is unclear if he will have surgery at this time.

    The 36-year-old dealt has been battling injuries over the last few years and had core surgery last offseason.

    In an exclusive 1-on-1 interview, he explained that he has been battling ailments for quite some time and expects to continue to play through injury as he enters the twilight of his career.

    "Unfortunately, the rest of my career here, there's just gonna be some times where I'm just not able to walk for a couple of weeks, and that's the way she goes," he revealed.

    Oshie finished with 19 goals and 16 assists for 35 points in 58 games this season.

    Washington has three games remaining on the schedule and hosts the New York Islanders on Monday.

    Oshie is one of five differnet Capitals dealing with injury, as Alex Ovechkin, Anthony Mantha, Trevor van Riemsdyk and Nic Dowd will also all be out on Monday.

    Joe Snively has also recalled under emergency conditions, along with Beck Malenstyn, with the team carrying only 17 skaters.
