Ovechkin On Playoff Run ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals' first-round series against the New York Rangers kicks off on Sunday, and the schedule is set. Washington will face the Rangers at 3 p.m. on Sunday in Game 1, and then meet New York again on Tuesday for Game 2. After that, there will be a break between games before action heads back to Capital One Arena, where the Capitals will host the Rangers for Game 3 on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a late-night Game 4 on Sunday. He will see former Capitals head coach Peter Laviolette, who parted ways with the team last April after missing the postseason for the first time in nine years, on the other side.
