Winnipeg Jets defenseman Haydn Fleury exited Monday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a lower-body injury.

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Haydn Fleury exited Monday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a lower-body injury.

The 28-year-old defender was on the receiving end of a hit thrown by Maple Leafs forward Connor Dewar, but the contact didn't seem to phase Fleury. Just seconds later, Fleury's leg appeared to twist and, resulted in the injury.

The Maple Leafs had possession of the puck in the Jets' zone, forcing Fleury to stay on the ice and attempt to keep the puck out of his goal. When the puck finally did exit the Jets' zone, the referees blew the play dead, allowing Fleury to get off the ice. 

Fleury went straight to the tunnel and to the locker room when the play concluded and did not return for the third period. 

Prior to the game, the Jets recalled Swedish defenseman Simon Lundmark from the Manitoba Moose. The extent of Fleury's injury is unknown, and the Jets only ruled Logan Stanley out for two games, but if both defenders aren't available for Saturday's game, Lundberg could make his NHL debut against the Ottawa Senators back at home.
