The Winnipeg Jets will look a little different on Thursday night, as the team will rest a number of star players in the season finale in Colorado against the Avalanche.
With Nikolaj Ehlers recovering from his upper-body injury suffered at the hands of Minnesota's Ryan Hartman on Tuesday, he will be shelved for Thursday's contest alongside a number of other forwards.
Blake Wheeler, Mark Scheifele and Pierre-Luc Dubois will all sit out Thursday's game up-front for the Jets, while defencemen Josh Morrissey and Nate Schmidt will skip out on game No. 82 as a way of maintaining some load management.
Regular healthy scratches David Gustafsson, Karson Kuhlman, Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Kyle Capobianco and Logan Stanley will all draw into the lineup, while the team has also recalled veteran forward Dominic Toninato from the Manitoba Moose. He will step in for his third game in as many days following a back-to-back in Texas with the Moose.
With Kyle Connor, Adam Lowry, Mark Scheifele, Neal Pionk and Brenden Dillon all having played 81 games thus far, the idea of playing a full 82-game schedule was either bonus-related or a personal goal for at least four of the combatants, as Scheifele will sit Thursday's game out.
Goaltender David Rittich will get the start as the busy Connor Hellebuyck will have an additional rest day before the opening round of the playoffs begins.
There is no indication as to where players will line up for the Jets on Thursday, but the best guess is as follows:
Expected lines for April 13 vs. Colorado:
Connor - Namestnikov - Kuhlman
Barron - Toninato - Maenalanen
Niederreiter - Lowry - Appleton
Gustafsson - Stenlund - Jonsson-Fjallby
Samberg - DeMelo
Dillon - Pionk
Capobianco - Stanley

Healthy scratches: Wheeler, Scheifele, Dubois, Ehlers, Morrissey, Schmidt.
