For the first time in four games, the Winnipeg Jets will ice a different lineup, as the Vegas Golden Knights make their way to Manitoba for a 7:00 PM central showdown at Canada Life Centre.
The most notable change will be in goal, as former Golden Knight Laurent Brossoit will get the start against his old club.
After signing his seven-year, $59.5 million extension on Thanksgiving Monday, Connor Hellebuyck has been anything but the stellar backstop that Winnipeg has so desired.
The offseason signing of the Stanley Cup-winning goaltender will certainly be put right to the test as Brossoit will look to take some revenge on his old pals.
Thursday's contest will be Brossoit's first of the season, and first with Winnipeg since early 2021. He will be looking to hand Vegas (4-0-0) its first loss of the season as well.
Up front, things will also look different for the Jets, which lost forward Gabe Vilardi to an MCL sprain on Tuesday.
Filling in on the team's top line will either be Mason Appleton or Rasmus Kupari. While Vlad Namestnikov has been elevated to the No. 2 centre ice role, as Cole Perfetti has shifted back to the wing.
The Jets' will make one change defensively, as Nate Schmidt will draw out of the lineup in favour of Logan Stanley.
Expected lines for Thursday, October 19, vs. Vegas:
Connor Scheifele Appleton
Ehlers Namestnikov Perfetti
Iafallo Lowry Niederreiter
Barron Kupari Gustafsson
Morrissey DeMelo
Samberg Stanley
Pionk Dillon
Brossoit
