The Manitoba Moose have recalled goaltender Thomas Milic from the ECHL.
The Winnipeg Jets have made the announcement that the youthful backstop has earned a promotion back to the American Hockey League.
Having started the season in Manitoba, Milic went on to post pedestrian numbers in his first year of AHL action. The 21-year-old went just 4-10-2 over 17 games for the bottom-feeding Moose.
He put up far better numbers in the ECHL to go alongside a .500 record (3-3-0). Milic had a 2.33 goals against average and a .923 save percentage with the Norfolk Admirals.
Last year with Norfolk, Milic had an impressive 11-3-2 record.
With Kaapo Kahkonen earning a call-up to Winnipeg in place of goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, the Moose are down a body in goal. Milic will fill that void as long as available.
Manitoba is on the road in Laval on Wednesday for the first test of a two-game, week-day set, to which the team will look to bounce back from a lopsided home loss to Milwaukee on Monday.
