The Winnipeg Jets have released a special uniform in advance of the 2023-24 season.
The Winnipeg Jets will be sporting a new look three times during the 2023-24 NHL season.
The sweater dubbed 'The Forty-Eight' will serve in commemoration of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Centennial and honours the sweaters worn by the gold-medal winning RCAF Flyers from 1948.
Using RCAF Blue, the base of the sweater contains replica blue and red striping, to go alongside the Jets logo in place of the RCAF roundel. Players will wear matching socks, brown gloves, and dark blue pants alongside the sweaters.
“It is a great honour and privilege for True North and the Jets to be able to take part in celebrating the RCAF’s centennial,” said Jets' governor and executive chairman Mark Chipman..
“We have been grateful to wear our pride and appreciation for our country’s military, literally over our hearts and on our sleeves, over the past 12 years through the emblem of our Winnipeg Jets. We are humbled to further share our appreciation for the selfless service of the men and women working and fighting for our country through our RCAF Flyers inspired specialty jersey for the upcoming season.”
The jersey will be a special alternate used on three different occasions throughout the season, including its debut on December 4 at Canada Life Centre for Winnipeg's Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Night against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes.
