The Winnipeg Jets will be without head coach Rick Bowness for the short-term future.

On Monday morning, the Winnipeg Jets announced that head coach Rick Bowness would be stepping away from the team as he attends to a personal matter.

Associate coach Scott Arniel will fill Bowness' boots as he remains away from the club.

The Jets revealed that Bowness' wife Judy suffered a seizure and has been hospitalized, to which she is undergoing further tests. 

Winnipeg next plays on Tuesday night at home, as fellow Central Division opponent St. Louis makes its way to Canada Life Centre for a 7:45 PM central time matchup. The Jets then hit the road for a Thursday night game in Detroit. 

The Jets are asking those interested to respect the privacy of Bowness, his family and their personal lives.
