Winnipeg Jets Take on Santa Clause, Coyotes on Saturday
For the second Saturday in the past three, the Winnipeg Jets will take on the Arizona Coyotes. This time it will be a home game from Canada Life Centre.
But it won't just be the visiting Coyotes who will put up a fight in front of those hoping to attend.
With puck drop set for 6:00 PM central time at the intersection of Donald Street and Portage Avenue, Winnipeg's annual Santa Clause Parade also takes to the streets at 5:00 PM on Sunday.
This means there will be considerable overlap before and during the game that is being played right along the parade route.
Both the team and the City of Winnipeg are advising those travelling within the area on Sunday to take extra time, as road closures and large crowds are expected to cause considerable delays.
Much like that of last year and other previous renditions, the parade will begin at the intersection of Portage Avenue and Main Street, before travelling westbound down Portage to Memorial Boulevard. The floats will then head southbound down Memorial to St. Mary Avenue to its finish.
A number of road closures will be in effect on Saturday.
Beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday:
- Main Street southbound between Portage Avenue and York Avenue

Winnipeg Transit will also be rerouted during the daytime hours on Saturday. Riders are encouraged to check their new stops and trip times online.
Santa Clause Parade organizers are advising attendees to walk, cycle, carpool or use Winnipeg Transit for transportation on Saturday.
Those attending the festivities are asked to bring non-perishable food items and unwrapped giftsofor the Christmas Cheer Board. Those donations will be dropped off at the Manitoba Hydro building at 360 Portage Avenue.
